The tent is fully furnished with a comfortable king-sized bed, a cozy couch, and a propane heater for cooler evenings. Guests have a private picnic table and charcoal grill cooking area next to the tent.
There are six tents on the 160-acre property that share a communal fire ring and two central bathhouses. Each bathhouse has a warm shower, a sink, and a flushing toilet.
Camp Ravari is a glamping village of just six private tents located on 160 acres of private land surrounded by milliions of acres of public lands, so you can enjoy the peace and quiet of the desert without any interruptions. You can take a short hike, bring a mountain bike to explore the surrounding desert, or simply sit back and relax while taking in the stunning views of the grand landscape.

As service can be spotty for some carriers, please plan to read and/or print the directions and check-in instructions prior to your trip to ensure a smooth arrival. In case of an emergency or an urgent repair, a local maintenance person will be available to come and assist you.
Located in a remote area of the Mohave Desert. Roads are maintained by the county on a monthly basis. The neighbors are very friendly and keep to themselves.
The local areas you’d want to visit and buy groceries from will be Kingman and Lake Havasu - both of which are an hour from the property. Kingman is more of an old town Route 66 vibe (think mining, trains, old cars, Wild West), and Lake Havasu is more of a vacation hub for people from California. There are 300+ days of sunshine annually so it’s likely to be quite nice when you come. If, however, it’s cold when you arrive then you can head for Lake Havasu. It’s 2,500 feet lower in elevation so it’s generally about 10 degrees warmer than Kingman or the property where you’ll be staying.
After heavy rains the roads can be washed out, which is why a high clearance vehicle (such as a truck or SUV) or 4x4 vehicle is recommended. In the event you are unable to access the property due to a wash out please send a picture of the impassible road and a full refund will be issued (or one night’s refund if you prefer to come back the next day and complete your stay). Roads washing out is most common during the summer months.
Though this property is new, we have six tents in the vicinity. Feel free to read other listings' reviews to get an idea of what it's like out here. Here are a few things to be aware of before you book your adventure.
1. If you're looking for a place to party, yell, or be rowdy - unfortunately, this is not it. We love a good party, but this is a place of peace and quiet for an intentionally limited number of guests. If you're looking for solitude, you've found the right place.
2. A 4x4 or high-clearance vehicle (examples would be a RAV4, 4Runner, pickup truck, SUV, Jeep, or Subaru) is preferable for the 11-mile dirt road leading to the property. Although the roads are well-maintained, smaller vehicles may have a bumpy ride and risk punctured tires from rocks. In very rare cases of heavy rain, the road may wash out (0-3 days annually). If this happens during your trip, send us a photo for a full refund or one night's refund if you wish to return the next day.
3. The GPS will get you close, but not to the property. For accurate directions, kindly follow the instructions provided by your host upon booking.
4. Verizon has the best coverage in the area, but you may experience some spotty service near mountains. AT&T has limited service, but you may have to move around a bit to find a signal. Despite this, making calls and sending texts shouldn't be a problem throughout your stay.
5. Keep in mind that our off-grid location means you will not have access to regular power. There are solar lights available for use in the tents at night (assuming it was sunny during the day, which happens 300+ days a year). These lights have an attached USB port that can be used for charging your phone during the day. Don't worry about being in the dark as we also provide flashlights.
6. There is filtered drinking water available for your use near the bathhouse - there is no need to bring your own. To conserve resources, we kindly request that you be mindful and only use the necessary amount of water, as it has to be brought in by truck.
7. To maintain a tidy environment, we request that guests help us keep waste to a minimum. There is a trash can provided in the parking lot where you can dump small trash bags. As the owners and cleaners are responsible for traveling in to remove all trash from the site, this helps us avoid having to remove large amounts of waste.
8. There is no TV, toaster, microwave, or coffee machine, but please feel free to bring your own charcoal in order to grill and cook your own food. Each tent has a private picnic table as well. If you would like to use the charcoal grill at your tent, please bring your own charcoal, plates, silverware, and cooking utensils.
9. Please be mindful of other guests and limit bathhouse trips to as short as is reasonable. Because water has to be hauled in and our wastewater has to be hauled out manually, please avoid flushing toilets more than once. Toilet brushes and plungers are provided.
